Exodus Sector (MUD Capital)¶
"It's time humanity frees itself from the shackles of its cradle. Your fate lies elsewhere, deep among the stars. All you need to do is extend your hand and seize your destiny." — The Revelation
Overview¶
Exodus stands as the glittering testament to God's promise to humankind. It is the stalwart backbone of MUD's influence within the Galia Expanse, housing the heart and soul of the MUD population and its governing institutions. Named as an omnipresent reminder that the journey is not yet fulfilled, Exodus embodies the paradox at MUD's core: a civilization that builds monuments to permanence while believing its true home lies beyond the stars.
MUD eyes are always turned outward, beyond the stars, seeking the true "Paradise" — the Cataclysm, the sentient planet Iris, where God promised to meet humanity when it found its true home.
The Mothership Serene¶
| Detail | Description |
|---|---|
| Status | The monumental vessel that carried humanity from Earth to Galia |
| Location | Permanently docked/stationed in the Exodus system |
| Inhabitants | The MUD Elite, the Government, and the Holy Family |
| Symbolism | The literal and metaphorical heart of the empire |
| Construction | Built from Earth's stripped resources — entire oceans drained, mountains mined, forests burned |
| Arrival | Reached the Exodus Sector ~2399 after a journey spanning centuries |
The Mothership Serene is more than a vessel — it is a reliquary. Within its halls, the Gotti Dynasty maintains the sacred artifacts of the faith, the records of the Exodus, and the governmental infrastructure that administers MUD's galactic territory. The ship could leave at any time — reminding everyone that MUD's settlement in Galia is, theologically speaking, temporary.
Political Influence¶
The Gotti Dynasty — Divine Right¶
MUD is a theocratic dynasty. The Gotti bloodline holds divine right to rule — an unbroken succession from Vincenzo Assis Gotti, the First Patriarch, to whom God manifested his will.
| Generation | Leader | Era |
|---|---|---|
| 1st | Vincenzo Assis Gotti | The Exodus (~2120) |
| 2nd | Izek Gotti | Colonial expansion |
| 3rd+ | Charon Gotti | Convergence War (~2512) |
| Current | Charon Gotti Jr. (female) | COP Legislative Branch Leader. Next in Executive rotation |
The Five Internal Factions¶
MUD's unity is a facade. Beneath the Holy Family's supremacy, five factions compete for influence:
| Faction | Leader | Domain |
|---|---|---|
| The Church | High Prelate Cassandra Vael | Doctrine, faith, moral authority |
| The Pearce Council | Admiral Darius Ashworth | Military, fleet command |
| Scientia | Dr. Selene Siqueira | Research, technology |
| The Synod | (Decentralized DAO) | Commerce, trade, shadow economics |
| The Senate | Speaker Tomas Renn | Legislation, civilian governance |
The Senate¶
The Senate operates from Exodus as the formal seat of government, but decades of Gotti centralization have left it weakened and largely ceremonial. All factions maintain embassies and representatives in Exodus, but none hold dominant influence beyond the Holy Family.
MUD Safe Zone — The Five Colonies¶
Exodus anchors a network of five Safe Zone sectors that form MUD's core territory:
| Sector | Number | Key Feature |
|---|---|---|
| Exodus | Capital | Mothership Serene, government, Holy Family |
| Valiant | I | First colony |
| Aurora | II | Second colony |
| Verzan | III | Third colony |
| Amora | IV | Fourth colony |
Key Events¶
The Arrival (~2399)¶
After centuries crossing the void, guided by the Photoli Traveler Ahr, the Mothership Serene reached the Exodus Sector. Ahr made his final appearance (~2400), departing with a promise: he would return when humanity found their true home. The promise of Ahr's return became the foundation of MUD's state religion.
The Convergence War (~2512)¶
MUD was one of the primary belligerents in the galaxy's defining conflict. The war shattered MUD's colonial expansion, forcing the abandonment of five medium-zone colonies. The Treaty of Peace and the founding of the Council of Peace followed.
Plan B — The Contingency¶
MUD co-founded the Council of Peace while simultaneously preparing a classified contingency — Plan B — for surviving the institution's collapse. This protocol suggests MUD's leadership has always viewed galactic peace as provisional. With MUD next in the Executive rotation, the faction with the escape plan will hold the keys to the building it's prepared to abandon.
Key Locations¶
| Location | Description |
|---|---|
| Mothership Serene | Docked in orbit. Seat of the Holy Family, government, and MUD elite |
| The Senate Chamber | Formal legislative body. Weakened but symbolically important |
| Church of the Revelation | MUD's primary cathedral. Houses sacred artifacts of the faith |
| Pearce Council HQ | Military command center. Fleet operations |
| Embassy District | All galactic factions maintain representatives |
