Overview

Glowhaven is far more than a luminous frontier. On the surface: a sector where mineral flora reacts to living electromagnetic fields, painting ethereal light shows. Beneath that beauty lies a sacred Mierese site — the planet their god Onato directed them to through shared dreams, where a mysterious artifact was found. The Iris Academy has established its research outpost Anchorage here to study what may be the key to one of Galia's greatest mysteries.

The Mineral Flora

Biology (Mineral-Based)

  • The "flora" is mineral formations, not organic material
  • Possesses innate energy currents
  • Bursts into radiant illumination upon interaction with electromagnetic fields of living entities
  • Creates a landscape that responds to presence of sentient beings

The Light Shows

  • At night, horizons come alive in a mesmerizing dance of shimmering hues
  • Nocturnal creatures going about their night hunts create trails of living light
  • An extraordinary ecosystem painted in ethereal luminescence

Phase 1: The Shared Dreams (~2396)

  • ~2396: Many Mierese begin dreaming of a beautiful landscape where flora is made of minerals that shine in the dark
  • A world filled with life and luminance, filled with dangers and discovery
  • The dreams are shared across the entire species — a collective vision
  • The Convergence War agitated Iris, which amplified cosmic currents across Galia
  • These intensified currents enabled the communication — whether from Onato or another source

Phase 2: The Debate

  • Mierese debate what the shared dream could mean
  • Some theorize that Onato is directing his children to a piece of the puzzle of his imprisonment
  • The religious significance electrifies Mierese communities galaxy-wide

[!WARNING] Ambiguity is intentional: There is NO certainty it was actually Onato. The Mierese are a species massively influenced by stories and ideas. The shared dream could be divine intervention — or collective mytho-psychic resonance. The canon deliberately does not confirm either interpretation.

Phase 3: The Discovery

  • Mierese discover MRZ-31, Glowhaven
  • Upon exploring the sector, they realize: this IS the place from their dreams
  • Mierese throughout the Galia Expanse start flocking to the sector

Phase 4: The Intensification (~2513)

  • ~2513: As the Convergence War rages, the dreams grow more intense
  • The Lore Keepers reunite in the sector to understand the visions collectively
  • Despite their combined wisdom: no answer found

Phase 5: The Box (~2522)

[!IMPORTANT] A young female Mierese explorer finds a box made of unknown material in the heart of Glowhaven.

  • Upon discovery, the Mierese dreams finally cease
  • The Lore Keepers declare: this is part of the quest to free their god Onato
  • Celebrations erupt in Mierese settlements throughout the Galaxy
  • The box becomes the most important Mierese artifact in living memory
  • The box remains UNOPENED — no one has discovered how to open it
  • The next step of the mystery: finding clues to unlock the box

The Explorer (Name TBD)

  • Young female Mierese who found the box
  • Became famous overnight — despite not feeling like a heroine
  • Has been added to the Grand Tale of the Mierese (their living chronicle of sacred history)
  • Feels pressured by the enormous expectations her species places on her
  • (Character details and name to be created in dedicated session)

The Iris Academy: Anchorage

  • The Iris Academy creates Anchorage — a research outpost in Glowhaven
  • Purpose: decipher the curious artifact site the Mierese excavated
  • Located on one of the planets of the star system
  • Tension exists between the Iris Academy and the Lore Keepers (science vs. faith)
  • However, the Lore Keepers want help opening the box and are willing to compromise
  • A reluctant partnership: sacred custodians + secular researchers working toward the same goal
  • What the Academy finds could reshape understanding of Galia itself

Frontier Activity

  • Numerous ONI settlements dot the landscape, but vast areas remain untamed
  • Explorers, hunters, and miners drawn to the luminous wonder
  • Mining expeditions driven by curiosity and greed
  • The sector is a mix of sacred site, research hub, and wild frontier
