Soletud Sector (Ustur 2)¶
"The carcass contained biological and structural data unlike anything in known science." — Resonant Forge classified briefing
Overview¶
Soletud is the Ustur Regency's second colony, established ~2382 as part of the species' expansion beyond Ioki. Marked by abundant natural resources and vast fertile landscapes, Soletud hosts several decentralized, autonomous Ustur colonies. But the sector's true significance lies beneath the surface — and in orbit.
A few light minutes from its primary star sits the immense carcass of a commander-class entity — an ancient organism of unknown origin that has shaped Ustur civilization more than any other archaeological discovery.
The Carcass — Ustur's Greatest Discovery¶
| Detail | Description |
|---|---|
| Discovery | ~2547 — Ustur researchers uncover the carcass |
| Nature | An immense organic entity (commander-class scale) from an unidentified civilization |
| Condition | Complex internal structures and inscriptions. No signs of external damage, combat, or prior inhabitants. A pristine ghost |
| Language | Internal systems and inscriptions remain largely indecipherable |
| Significance | The most significant archaeological find in Ustur history |
The Vzus Tenet¶
In ~2547, Ustur researchers uncovered pivotal secrets from the carcass's internal systems. This knowledge was channeled to the Resonant Forge — the cultivation sect whose engineer-philosophers built it — to construct the Vzus Tenet, a powerful Titan-class ship completed ~2551. The Tenet is now stationed at the Vzus Defensive Belt in the Eternity system, maintained by .doer-stage engineers in permanent readiness.
The Ka-dara Connection¶
Soletud shares a deep archaeological connection with Ka-dara — another sector associated with an extinct civilization (the Ka-raviam). Whether the carcass builders are related to the Ka-raviam, or whether both drew on similar sources of ancient knowledge, remains one of Galia's deepest archaeological questions. Together with the Izarian ruins, Soletud represents one of three known ancient civilizations — each distinct, each destroyed, each leaving unanswered questions.
The Dark Sect Incident¶
The Children of the Deep Pool (~2601)¶
Rithand.doer — a Resonant Forge dropout — accessed classified Elder Conscience impressions through an unauthorized Deep Reading session at an inadequately secured archive on Soletud. What he found convinced him of a radical interpretation of Ustur cosmology, and he founded the Children of the Deep Pool — a dark sect that accumulated stolen Ustur cores in a hidden temple.
In ~2601, Elder Order operatives stormed Rithand's hidden temple on Soletud, killing him and recovering seventeen accumulated cores. The cult survived him — it always survives. The theology is too compelling for Ustur who have glimpsed the truth and cannot unsee it.
The Celestial Surveyors Syndicate¶
Born from the carcass discovery, the Celestial Surveyors Syndicate is a leading cosmic archaeology research institution:
- Conducts activities throughout all of Galia Expanse
- A Photoli serves as a senior member — a self-described nerd and archaeology aficionado with no institutional connection to the Photoli faction (purely personal passion)
- Investigates connections between the carcass, the Ka-raviam ruins, and the Izarian remnants
