Yuldun Waste (MRZ-32)¶
The Yuldun Waste, to the uninitiated, appears to be a barren expanse within Galia.
Overview¶
The Yuldun Waste, to the uninitiated, appears to be a barren expanse within Galia. Devoid of bustling life, its planets are treacherous — either aggressively hostile to life or shrouded in tumultuous atmospheric tempests that deter even the most seasoned captains from daring a descent.
Yet while its surface seems vacant, the sector isn't entirely desolate. Some planets sustain legitimate economic activity and normal populations under Ustur domain, while the criminal underworld operates in the shadows alongside them.
Environment¶
Planetary Conditions¶
- No habitable worlds — all planets are either actively hostile or storm-shrouded
- Atmospheric tempests prevent safe landing on most surfaces
- Appears barren to casual observation — this is part of its value
The Ancient Station¶
[!IMPORTANT] Suspended amidst the cosmic void is an ancient space station of unknown origin. Its origins are lost to time. It has been repurposed into a clandestine refuge.
- ~2496: Criminals from different species begin gathering in MRZ-32 — they take hold of the ancient decrepit space station and make it a refuge for criminals
- Origins lost to time — no one knows who built it or why
- Repurposed into a haven for outlaws, fugitives, and shadow operators
- Within its shadowed corridors and dimly lit chambers: dark bargains, plots, and illegal salvage yards
- Everything happens beyond the prying eyes of galactic authorities
Economy & Culture¶
Legitimate Economy¶
- Some planets in the sector have normal populations conducting legitimate economic activity
- These worlds follow Ustur domain governance
- The sector is not purely criminal — it has a dual nature
Shadow Economy (BMAH-Coordinated)¶
- The criminal operations and illicit locations are coordinated by the Black Market Auction House (BMAH)
- The broader galactic economy overlooks this sector
- Those in the know understand: the currency of secrets and shadows is sometimes more valuable than any mineral wealth
- Clandestine trade, black market goods, and information brokering
Illegal Salvage Yards¶
- Extremely popular in this region
- Everything that arrives is disassembled and reassembled for resale
- Stolen ships, war debris, contraband tech — all broken down and rebuilt into untraceable goods
The Price of Sanctuary¶
- For those desperate enough — whether to hide or to hunt — Yuldun Waste offers sanctuary
- But always at a price
- The station operates on its own rules, outside galactic law
Planet Etira — Former BMAH Capital¶
- Etira was the last capital of the Black Market Auction House (BMAH) — destroyed during the Never Alone incident (~2624)
- Atmosphere was terraformed by the Photoli (~2135) to be lethally hostile — originally to seal the "Dreamer Below", a powerful creature imprisoned in its core
- The Dreamer Below is now dead — destroyed during Never Alone. Its corpse was looted by the Dark Photoli Bah, who retrieved a silver gem from within
- The COP invaded Etira post-Never Alone, destroying the BMAH's subsurface bunkers
- The Church of the Dreamer Below — a memory-stealing cult founded by Herdus.soul — is destroyed
- Etira is now effectively abandoned

Narrative Hooks¶
- Tortuga in space: The ancient station is a lawless hub — perfect setting for underworld storylines
- Unknown builders: Who built the ancient station? Pre-Convergence? Alien origin? Connection to the Cataclysm?
- Salvage yards: What are they salvaging? War debris? Ancient tech? Stolen ships?
- Information as currency: Natural overlap with the SDU system from Lumik — does Rank B+ SDU trade happen here?
- Okuto vs. Yuldun: Both are gray/black market hubs — how do they relate? (Okuto in Pavo is "neutral gray exchange"; Yuldun is fully criminal)
