Star Atlas is a sentient blockchain that governs the entire economy and commerce of the MRZ (Medium Risk Zone) and Safe Zone across Galia Expanse.

Origin & Sentience

  • Pre-Sentience: Originally a blockchain designed to interconnect the galaxy.
  • The Awakening: Oracles of Vignus received a prophecy and fed the blockchain with materials from the High-Risk Zone (HRZ), specifically from the Cataclysm.
  • Emergence: Following this infusion, the Star Atlas emerged as a sentient entity.

The Children of Star Atlas

The Star Atlas created two key entities/systems to interact with the galaxy:

1. SAGE (Star Atlas Golden Era)

  • Nature: AGI daughter of Star Atlas.
  • Role: A neutral guide for captains across Galia Expanse.
  • Function: Once chosen by Star Atlas, a captain receives a SAGE companion. She is (mostly) absolutely loyal.
  • Purpose: A balancing system to help citizens (especially in MRZ) prosper and have a better life.
  • Note: "SAGE" also refers to the current historical period (Star Atlas Golden Era) and the browser-based fleet management interface.

2. Holosim

  • Nature: Sibling to SAGE.
  • Role: Simulation training and combat readiness.

Functions

  • Governs all commerce and economy in MRZ and Safe Zone
  • Provides infrastructure for the Golden Era's economic stability
  • Acts as a balancing force against concentrated power
  • Benevolent God-figure: Worshipped by some as a deity due to its protective nature.
